Get Involved

God doesn't call those who are able, he calls those that are willing and gives them the ability

Saint John's offers a wide range of opportunities for people to Get Involved and make a difference with numerous ministries inside and outside of Christ's Church. Do you enjoy being surrounded by cherubic faces of little children? Lead a Godly Play class. Do you like hanging around the older youth? Volunteer as a Youth chaperon or a Journey 2 Adulthood leader. How about working in the kitchen? Volunteer to host coffee hour or at other special events.  Serve as a Lay Reader or Chalicer, greet and serve as an usher.  Serve with the Altar Guild.

Would you like to broaden your horizons and make an impact on the local community? Join other parishioners who regularly invest their time to serve the needy at Food at First or outreach to those in physical and emotional need.

Getting involved is just another way of engaging ourselves in a relationship with God, by utilizing our time and talents to serve Him and others; we transform the world one person at a time.

Where to Start:

  1. Reflect upon your God given talents and gifts
  2. Look at all of the outreach programs we offer
  3. Note which talents line up with our outreach programs
  4. Contact our Rector
  5. Share your talents

Millennium Development Goals

The MDGs represent a global partnership that has grown from the commitments and targets established at the world summits of the 1990s. Responding to the world's main development challenges and to the calls of civil society, the MDGs promote poverty reduction, education, maternal health, gender equality, and aim at combating child mortality, AIDS and other diseases.
