Episcopal Youth Community (EYC)
EYC is for all young people in grades 6 to 12. We gather for food, fellowship, service, and lessons on Sunday mornings and Sunday evenings, and participate in Diocesan Youth Events. Friends are always welcome. EYC is active on Facebook too - go to the facebook link at the top right-hand side of this page for postings and photos!
Sometimes we will meet as a big group, sometimes we will meet as Middle School and Highs School groups separately, and sometimes we will break up into 3 groups: Rite 13 (6th and 7th grades), J2A (8th through 10th grade), and YAC (11th and 12th grades). The Journey to Adulthood program is the curriculum that guides us, culminating in a Pilgrimage for young people who have made this journey!
The youth will meet with their Journey 2 Adulthood leaders two Sunday evenings each month during the normal school year. The other Sunday evenings will include service projects, such as Crop Walk and wrapping the Angel Tree gifts; field trips, like our annual youth campout, and Diocesan youth events. In addition, St. John's youth carry out parish fund-raisers such as the Mother and Father's Day brunches to help sponsor their participation in such programs.
