Our Parish Community

St. John's parish family consists of about 350 communicants of all ages and walks of life.  About 65 of these communicants are under the age of 16.  For these children and young adults, a vibrant Christian Formation curriculum and program (Parish, Diocesan, National) is provided throughout the academic year by our Christian Formation Director, Diane Bjorklund.

Adult Education programs: Tools for the Christian Journey every Sunday morning, Education for Ministry,  and Small Group Fellowships (eg., Prayer Groups, Bible Study)  and Parish Wide Gatherings make St. John's a bustling community throughout the year.  Our music program is rich with talent and St. John's choir provides one important way in which ISU students participate in parish life.  Parish members, young and old are also active on Facebook -  go to the facebook link at the top right-hand side of the page to find postings and lots of activity follow-up photographs.

The Rev. Alexander Aiton is St. John's rector, the Rev. Donald R. Payer is our Deacon, and James R. Tener is the Student Chaplain at St. John's.  Jeannie Garcia is our office administrator througout the work week.

James Chol Update

We wanted to thank you for all the loving generosity and support shown to the Chol family.

Here is an update on James Chol's Brother Elijah Chol, the Episcopal Priest in Africa.

Elijah had an MRI on 2/4/12 and went in for a consultation with his neurosurgeon in Nairobi. It was found that he had several lesions or wounds in his brain plus some bleeding and has suffered a stroke. He is also suffering seizures and is on medication for those seizures.

We continue to seek your prayers and support. (If you wish to give a free will donation, you can make a...
