How to book St. John's Facilities

The kitchen/parish hall or certain other small meeting rooms can be reserved by non-profit community organizations for meetings or gatherings.  If you or your group would like to reserve facility space, please contact our main office at 292-6655 or email Jeannie Garcia at church@stjohns-ames.org.

How St. John's Facilities serve the community 

The Ames Town and Gown Chamber Music Association's Annual Musicale is held every year at St John's in the sanctuary and a reception in the parish hall.  Many senior-year music recitals are also held in the sanctuary.  In addition to musical events, many weekly, monthly, or annual meetings use St. John's facilities.  Classes and special occasions also use our wonderful kitchen/parish hall or other smaller spaces for small or large gatherings. 

Cleaning the Building

St. John's pays a private company to clean our facility.  If you have any questions or concerns about cleanliness of the building, please relay this information to Scott Saienga, our senior vestry warden,  who will speak to the company owner directly to remedy the situation.  There is also a sheet on the east wall of the kitchen where you may list things that need to be done.  

Building maintenance and upkeep

In addition to those we hire for specific repairs and upkeep, endless hours of parishioner labor and care and decision-making are contributed to the upkeep of our  building. Bob Elzer, along with the Junior and Senior Wardens on the vestry manage a huge part of this responsibility.
