Our music program is important to the worship life of our church.
The Anglican–Episcopal heritage places a strong emphasis on music, especially choral and organ music. Our music program draws from this heritage by emphasizing choral singing and the music of the pipe organ.
In addition, our worship services include music made by our bell choir which is made up of ringers of all ages, from elementary aged children, through college age, to older adults.
At other times, music may be offered using our grand piano purchased in 1999 in memory of Martha Benson's beloved husband and long time parishioner, Donald; or our harpsichord which was donated by Esther Walter in honor of her husband, Father Richard Walter.

We have gifted instrumentalists in our congregation and talented singers who occasionally present special musical selections.

Bell Choir
Our Bell Choir meets for practice on Wednesday evenings at 5:30pm. Our intergenerational choir performs various selections throughout the church year. To join this talented group, contact Liz Keys.
Our Organists
Jane Ringwald and Wendy Ware serve as St. John's as organists. These two committed musicians are also active St. John's parishioners.
Additional Music Offerings at St. John's
In addition to The St. John's Choir which sings September through May during our Sunday 10AM worship service, music offerings at St. John's are many. The St. John's Choir sings the Advent Lessons and Carol Service every December during Advent, and they present a Cabaret to feature their many musical talents. Ame's Town and Gown holds its marvelous Musicale every year at St. John's and many senior class recitals also use St. John's sanctuary for their performances.
