The Feast of the Ascension

St. John’s will keep the Feast of the Ascension on Thursday, May 29, at 6:00 PM with a solemn Eucharist featuring music, incense, and a small reception to follow. All are warmly invited to join us for this joyful celebration.

Ascension Day, observed 40 days after Easter, commemorates Christ’s return to the Father in glory after His resurrection. Far from a farewell, the Ascension affirms Christ’s continuing reign and His promise that we, too, are destined for life with God. It is a feast of hope, majesty, and mission.

Come be part of this beautiful liturgy as we gather with the Church across time and space to proclaim, “Christ has gone up on high!” Through word, sacrament, and song, we will rejoice in the mystery of the Ascension and the grace it brings to the Church and the world.

All are welcome.
